Fernando Sironi loved to travel and was always in search of beauty and new knowledge.
He would return home with suitcases full of precious objects, or simply exotic and extravagant: fabrics, carpets, incense, statues of idols, the beloved Buddhas in quiet poses that would live among his things. And above all, when he returned from a long journey, he brought with him many fascinating stories. During the short stops in Tortona he preferred the enveloping comfort of this Suite, where he continued to imagine and plan new trips like a new Ulysses.
“Ithaca gave you the beautiful journey.
Without her you would not set off ”.
(Constantine Kavafis)
